Introduction to BiuBiu
For those not familiar with BiuBiu, here’s a quick introduction to this Polish clothing company for full-busted women. Clothing is fit according to waist, hips, or the European clothing size you would wear if not for your breasts, and your bust size. For stretch fabrics, there are two options: B/BB and BB/BBB. Breast room is often more generous than the sizing chart indicates for stretch fabrics, but not for tailored clothing like button-down shirts. Prices are comparable to what you find in a department store, and quality is usually quite good. There is an English-language version of the website, and orders can be paid by credit card or Paypal. Packages are usually received within a week if you are also in Europe and may take a bit longer further afield. Returns and exchanges are not a problem, but because of exchange rates and shipping costs many people prefer to resell rather than return.
Summer 2013 Selection
The summer shirt selection this year includes Portofino (79 zł, equal to about $28, €21 or £17), Venice ($21,€15.50/£13) and Verona ($35,€26/£21.50) in several different colors. The dress options are Fields ($42,€31.50/£26), Marsala ($42,€31.50/£26), Martini ($56,€42/£34.50) and Gomora ($59.50,€44.50/£37).
Fit
I couldn’t purchase everything, so I settled on the Peony Fields dress and three different Venice shirts: the slightly more expensive limited edition with a lace pattern, coral and teal (which is more of an azure). With the exception of the Venice lace (size 40 BB/BBB), all are size 40 B/BB. I am 5’3″ (160 cm) tall and measure 40.5 inches (103 cm) in the bust while wearing a bra, 31 inches (79 cm) at my natural waist, and 39 inches (99 cm) around my hips. I’m wearing a 34GG or 36G bra in all the photos.
I found all items comfortable, although the Venice lace is slightly too large in the chest as it was ordered before my recent decrease in size.
Venice
What immediately attracted me to the Venice style was the lace, broken by bold vertical seam lines.
The look is unusual and striking, while the cut is basically that of a t-shirt, which meant I had a good idea of how it would fit me before I ordered it. (See my recent comparison of BiuBiu and URKYE’s t-shirt styles for a more detailed analysis of the fit.)
When I first saw pictures, I thought it had a lace overlay on a white shirt, so I was somewhat disappointed to learn that it was a print and that the other Venice shirts were monochrome.
I’ve since grown to appreciate them because they are so versatile, easily dressed up or down.
(Please excuse the sunglasses and squinting, summer has hit us full force. These lightweight shirts are proving very pleasant to wear to work.)
Peony Fields
Peony Fields is a light casual dress which you can simply throw on and not worry about.
I wore it for the first time to a BBQ, but I’ll wear it to work next week.
Bonus: Summer 2012
BiuBiu still has some items from last summer at a reduced price. The Fado lazur (turqoise) is just one of the pieces still on sale in limited sizes.
I won’t be wearing this one to work, however.

I forgot to mention, the Fado is in size 42 BB/BBB.

Thanks, great reviews! The peony fields dress looks great on you (and so does everything else, but I had not seen any reviews of that dress before), I would not have considered it after seeing the Biu Biu website photos, but will have to take another look now… Also recommend the longer versions of the Gomera dresses that they just released, really comfortable and I love a dress with pockets 🙂

I like linen and pockets, so I am tempted to give it a try 🙂

Everyone really seems to like BiuBiu but I was not comfortable in their clothes. I really didn’t like how tight BiuBiu’s clothing was. Based on my measurements, I was a 38BBB and that is what I ordered. Trying the shirts on I just felt really slutty. I looked even more top heavy than I already am. It was super tight across my bust/back. I clearly needed a 38BBBB but they don’t make it. Maybe a 40 or 42 BBB…? So that they fit comfortably loose…? If anyone knows of a place that sells regular clothing–sweaters, t-shirts, etc., please let me know. It really sucks because I was super excited due to all the positive reviews, but clearly they are more comfortable showing off their body than I am.

Is there a problem looking top heavy? The type of clothing you wear doesn’t dictate who you are or what type of person you are. Many women enjoy this type of clothing because we enjoy having fitted clothing, not necessarily tight clothing. There is nothing wrong with having a differing view on comfortable clothing as it’s relative and if you don’t feel comfortable in fitting clothing then I wouldn’t recommend wearing brands made especially for that.

Sam, I am not comfortable showing cleavage in the office. I have found that most shirts which have a criss-cross bodice, like the Fazo lazur, come far too low for me to be comfortable wearing them in a professional setting. I no longer purchase clothing in that style.
I also don’t want to show off my extra weight around my stomach. Some of the clothing is simply too figure-hugging for me. I’ve learned by trying it on that I simply won’t be comfortable in clothing which hugs my waist.
Knowing what I want, I do find some things that BiuBiu makes which suit me, and many things which do not. Likewise, you might find that some things fit your personal sense of what makes you comfortable, and other things do not. In my experience, the fitted shirts (the ones which go in the BBB instead of BB/BBB rating) are not as roomy as the stretch shirts, as I’m nearly bursting out of BBB whereas in stretch shirts I can wear B/BB. So perhaps you’d be more comfortable in some of the stretch fabric? The t-shirts which are shown above look fitted but not skin-tight.
The only large-bust retailers I have tried are BiuBiu, URKYE, and Pepperberry. There’s also been an URKYE summer review published here, as well as a comparison of BiuBiu and URKYE t-shirts. Perhaps one of these other companies would offer something which is more to your taste.
